A new prosthetic immediate large volume breast reconstruction: A TITANIZED POPLYPROPYLENE MESH (TILOOP BRA)

Breast reconstruction has become a standard of care for almost all women required mastectomy for breast cancer, a prcocedure wich actually represent a 30% of surgical indication. The titanized mesh allowing an immediate prosthetic reconstruction even in the larger breast volume.

Capsular fibrosis after radioterapy
2011 - Dr. Tilman Schottler

The titanium mesh as "camouflage mesh" in prosthetic breast surgery?

Klinikum Offenburg, Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery

Through tissue integration the titanium meshes can develop a "neofascia" in the breast, in addition,it shows a very low capsular fibrosis rate, which was not to be expected due to the radiotherapy. A capsular fibrosis rate of 4.3% corresponds to the value of patients who have not undergone radiotherapy over a period of 10 years.

Percutaneous posterior tibial nerve stimulation for Voiding Dysfunction
2011 - B. Adile, G.Adile, D. Passalacqua, P. Speciale, M. Vella

Percutaneous posterior tibial nerve stimulation for Voiding Dysfunction

Pregnancy and childbirth, pelvic surgery and some medication (diuretics and anticholinergic), obesity, some neurological disease (Multiple-sclerosis, spinal cord injury, diabetes) are associated with urge incontinence as the long-held clinical impression confirmed. The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of percutaneous tibial nerve stimulation (PTNS) for the treatment of complaints related to overactive bladder syndrome: urinary urgency, urinary frequency, urge incontinence (UI), non- obstructive urinary retention.

Robotically assisted laparoscopic repair of anterior vaginal wall and uterine prolapse by lateral suspension with mesh: initial experience and video
2010

Sacral colpopexy/hysteropexy is a well-established approach to vaginal apex support and was the first technique used to treat pelvic organ prolapse (POP) with robotic assistance. However, dissection at the level of the promontory may be difficult, especially in obese patients, and associated with rare but potential serious morbidity such as life-threatening vascular injury. In an attempt to avoid this risk, we describe a new robotic approach for POP repair with lateral suspension.

Cuff Testing in diagnosing BOO
2010 - S. Banerjee, C. Unwin, V. Srinivasan, H. Toussi

Role of non invasive urodynamics using penile Cuff Testing in diagnosing BOO.
A technique of non invasive Urodynamic study for men has been developed by scientists at Newcastle hospital using penile cuff. It works on the principle of interruption of flow of urine using a cuff around the penis and indirectly measuring the intravescical pressure (P cuff = P urethra = P ves.).
